Welcome to The Pearlfishers at Cala Dor Marina, a beautiful spot on the magnificent island of Mallorca in the middle of the Mediterranean.
Mallorca has a long tradition of fishing over the years and here at The Pearlfishers we celebrate the ancient art of pearlfishing that goes back centuries and is often performed by women, in particular Made famous in Bizets Opera The Pearlfishers.
We learned of the passions of these island ladies from mysterious eastern islands but for almost 2000 years along the Japanese peninsula women have established an extraordinary livelihood diving deep into the pacífic ocean for abalone, oysters, pearls and other shellfish.
Utilizing special techniques that allow them to dive to depths of up to 30 metres these AMA divers were better suited to the colder waters due to the extra layer of fat they have in their bodies.
Even today this tradition still lives on in Japan and is praised for its sustainability of only taking what you need from the ocean and not overfishing We celebrate these women and here we will serve the tender little morsels from the sea that these pearlfishers spend their lives diving for.

Location
The pearlfishers is situated in the heart of the marina on the Cala egos side in the mirador complex … it’s on the frontline with a terrace directly overlooking the yachts .. the perfect place to people watch whether it’s having breakfast lunch or dinner or just relaxing having a cocktail.
Shellfish
We specialise in serving fresh shellfish cooked and served on the day … for this we require 24 hours notice on shellfish bookings .. many places claim it’s fresh but it’s often frozen or left over from the day before .. we guarantee it’s fresh and cooked on the day
Shellfish platters are served chilled over ice … as you would expect to find in French seaside towns .. fruits de mer.
LOBSTERS AND CRAB
we also specialise in fresh lobster and crab
we have a lobster tank onsite so we cook the lobsters and crab to order ..allow 30 mins
SURF AND TURF MEALS FOR 2
We also specialise in surf and turf meals for 2 whether it be steak and lobster or a Spanish butafara sausage and lobster.. served with lots of salads and French fries
The Pearlfishers For Yacht Owners
We imagine relaxing on your boat sometimes you may not feel like cooking or perhaps you have some guests over and you are entertaining and do not have the time.
We could cook the food in our restaurant and deliver it to your boat at your requested time using all our crockery and cutelry so you don’t even have to do any washing up afterwards! We specialise in shellfish platters or fruits de mer as they call it in France, cooked fresh and served chilled over crushed ice ( see menu inside)
